The Sentinel
I feel alone, Dear Lord, as I stare circumspectly into the night....
Despising this darkness, I yearn to ...to prod it...to arrest it. to drive
it on away,
It’s despondency, desperation, finality ...cannot be cherished by me;
I feel its only sentinel poised here at the edge of night.
I stand alone, My Lord, wounded...confused...misguided.
In the grip of fear...dishearten...seeking the “true light”.
Miraculously, O Merciful God, You appear before me;
Compassionate...redeeming...comforting...
Your Spirit fills me ….thrills me! You alleviate my plight!
As the darkness eases effortlessly into the
light
My heart takes wings....and soars...upwards climbing...reaching a new plateau.
For with the quickness of this brand new day,
Comes the opportunity...the potentially...the plausibility...
Of being in Your wonderful presence ...once more.
